My Approach & Core Values

The Heart of My Work

At A Soft Place, my work is rooted in curiosity, compassion, and the understanding that healing is not about fixing what’s broken — it’s about remembering your wholeness.

Whether through Yoga Therapy, Reiki, or Sound healing, my approach is guided by the same intention: to create a brave, sacred space where you can reconnect with your body, energy, and inner wisdom — and begin to live with more freedom, presence, and ease.

Each session is co-created, and customized to you. We move at your pace, honoring your unique story, needs, and nervous system. I offer tools, practices, and energetic support designed to help you self-regulate, release tension, and rediscover your natural rhythm of balance and flow.

These are the core values that guide everything I do — in my work, my relationships, and my life.

1. You Are Whole, Just As You Are

You are not broken, and you do not need to be fixed.
You are already whole — radiant, capable, and complete.

In our work together, I don’t see myself as the one who heals or saves you. You hold your own wisdom, and my role is simply to walk beside you — to listen, to offer tools, and to help you remember the light that’s already yours.

Our time together is an invitation to reconnect with your inner steadiness — the part of you that already knows how to restore, release, and realign.

Healing isn’t something I give you; it’s something we create space for together. Through curiosity, compassion, and presence, we make room for your innate wholeness to rise to the surface and be felt again.

2. Curiosity & Compassion Over Judgment

Healing begins with gentle awareness.

Here, we approach your experiences with curiosity rather than criticism, compassion rather than control.
Each session becomes an invitation to explore what your body, mind, and energy are communicating — and to meet those messages with softness and care.

When we practice self-compassion, we soften the inner voice that demands perfection and create room for patience, understanding, and grace. From that tenderness, compassion for others naturally expands — because as we learn to hold ourselves with love, we can hold others with love too.

3. Your Body Holds a Wealth of Knowledge

Your body is more than a vessel — it’s a source of deep wisdom and guidance.
Every sensation, rhythm, and pulse holds information about what you need, what you’re ready to release, and where you’re being called to soften or strengthen.

In our work together, we practice listening to the body as an ally — noticing its messages with curiosity instead of frustration, tenderness instead of judgment.
Through movement, stillness, and energy work, we learn to understand its language — the subtle cues that lead us toward balance and ease.

When you begin to trust your body’s wisdom, you also begin to trust yourself.
And from that trust, everything else — healing, creativity, and connection — flows naturally.

4. To Heal Is to Feel

Healing is a process of allowing — of meeting what’s present and letting it move through you.

To heal is to feel — to allow emotion, breath, and energy to flow again where they’ve been held. But healing extends beyond emotion; it’s an awakening of awareness across every layer of being. When we tend to one aspect of ourselves — the body, the breath, the mind, or the heart — the effects ripple outward, restoring balance through the whole system.

In our sessions, you’ll be invited to notice what arises — sensations in the body, patterns in thought, subtle shifts in energy, or quiet truths within — and to meet them with curiosity rather than fear.
When we stop resisting and start listening, healing becomes a natural unfolding.

This is the heart of embodied healing: learning to stay present, to move with life rather than against it, and to trust your capacity to feel, release, and transform.

To heal is to feel, to flow, and to come home — again and again — to yourself.

5. “Wellness” Is Unique to Every Person

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. Each person has a distinct body, story, and way of experiencing the world — and what brings balance for one person may not serve another.

In yoga therapy, we look at wellness through the five Koshas — the layers of being that include the physical body, breath and energy, emotions and mind, inner wisdom, and connection to spirit. These layers remind us that healing is multidimensional, and that each person’s balance across them will look beautifully different.

Together, we explore what wellness means for you — noticing where you feel supported, where you feel disconnected, and what practices bring you into greater harmony.

My role is to help you reconnect with your own wisdom and design practices that fit your life — so your wellbeing feels personal, authentic, and sustainable.

6. Structure Creates Space for Flow

Structure is not a cage; it’s a container for growth.

In healing, structure provides the grounding and predictability our nervous systems need to feel safe. Through consistent sessions, clear goals, and supportive practices, we create a steady framework that allows you to integrate new insights and sustain change over time.

When the body and mind feel supported, they begin to relax. From that place of steadiness, natural flow and creativity can emerge — the kind that arises not from striving, but from safety and trust.

Structure offers the roots that keep you grounded; flow is the movement that keeps you alive and adaptable. Both are essential for balance.

My intention is to help you build simple, reliable structures — practices and rhythms that support you in feeling calm, capable, and connected — while also leaving space for intuition, flexibility, and flow.

7. Collective Freedom & Sacred Connection

Personal and collective healing are deeply intertwined. None of us are free until we are all free.

As we reconnect with our own bodies and energy, we also contribute to the healing of the collective — remembering that your wellbeing is inseparable from the wellbeing of the whole.

When you honor your body as sacred, you affirm the sacredness of all bodies.
This work is both personal and universal — a remembering of your power, your presence, and your belonging.

Healing yourself is a prayer for the world.

Each of these values weaves together to form the heart of my work —
a space where structure meets flow, awareness meets compassion, and healing unfolds at the pace of trust.

If this approach resonates, I invite you to begin your own journey of softening and reconnection.
Together, we’ll cultivate steadiness, awareness, and tools to help you feel grounded — both on and off the mat.

If you feel called to begin, I’d love to connect.
